Is the WD6400AAKS still the boot drive to go for?

in reading around seems many favour western digital caviar blue 640gb [wd6400aaks] being best speed/value boot drive, still case think? know samsung spinpoint f1 1tb [hd103uj] there too.

wd can had ~£55 vs samsung's ~£90, both have massive amount of redundant space (only using ~25gb of current boot drive), on face of cheaper , smaller wd seems obvious choice...unless i'm missing something?

reference:
1st drive - 320gb stock drive - boot/apps [the 1 i'm looking replace]
2nd drive - 750gb samsung spinpoint f1 - home folder
3rd drive - 750gb samsung spinpoint, backup of 2nd drive

i got wd boot drive has been making annoying high pitched noise, people said "seek noise", , if case recommend against it. however, ran hardware test , found drive defective, have ship owc , replacement.

wiped drive clean once , reinstalled , looks have again (logic bitch install 7 hours, again). have 3 f1 spinpoints in there along seem doing fine. suppose got unlucky bum drive.
