Tried to install RAM - Something went wrong


alright, understood ram installation on macs simple , straightforward.

read on instructions, watched youtube videos, , made sure recommendations on kind of ram (crucial 2gb).

took out original ram came macbook pro , put in new ram. screwed in , attempted turn on laptop. heard usual startup sounds monitor screen empty , black , remained way. waited awhile (10 minutes or so) see if change, , nothing happened.

went , took out new ram, , put in old 1 , tried restart, , again, nothing black screen.

tried taking out old ram , putting different slot , same thing new ram. nothing.

i'm trying hard not freak out (i have lot of stuff backed on external) seriously, have no idea did wrong , what's wrong macbook pro... , yeah. freaking out.

help?

edit: edit add no longer under apple warranty , last time had deal people @ genius bar, wanted kill myself. or kill them. if can't fix myself, possible recommendations people fix these sorts of problems aside people @ apple?
 

the common reason not getting ram contacts seated socket properly.

take ram out.

now, insert edge of ram @ 45 degree angle.
need use both thumbs on long edge push ram socket while still on 45 degree angle, before laying flat down clips.

when lay flat, should see non or little of gold contacts remaining visible - 1/16th inch or less. if see more that, or if edges of contacts not evenly straight socket edge, take out try again.

(you cannot push contacts in when ram in flat position. clips click ram in place not indication seated correctly)

need help with itunes 7.7
