Camcorder extended warranties -- yes or no?


i'm considering hard drive video camera -- sony sr11. $1100. 5 yr warranty hefty $190. far less cc or bb, getting there. thoughts?
 

it depends on warranty covers availability of prompt service in area should go wrong. extended warranties cover maintenance items cleaning, example (but i'm not sure how benefit tapeless camera).

also, going using camera for? if plan on editing on mac, hdv lot easier deal , typically yield better results. hard drive cameras avchd-based, apple doesn't support natively. has converted aic first (which slow process , takes lot of space), kind of defeats purpose of having tapeless camera in first place.

canon hv20/hv30 (hdv codec on minidv tape) better cameras in price range, imho.

need help with itunes 7.7
